It's Beginning to Smell Alot Like Summer

Summer Slushie
  • 1/2 cup frozen pineapple and mango chunks
  • 3/4 cup coconut water

Directions: Blend both ingredients.

Note: I buy my frozen pineapple and mango from SAMs Club in a big bag for less than $10 and my coconut water from Trader Joe's for around $3

If you were once a child, you know all too well the smells of summer. No I’m not talking about the typical ones; fresh cut grass, the burning charcoal from the neighbors grill, honeysuckles in bloom, no, no I’m talking about the one that signifies that you’ve had an awesome day outside playing, the smell that fills my house when my rosy cheeked little boy comes running into my kitchen after playing outside all day. The salty smell of sweat.  Nothing signifies the start of summer to me like the smell of sweat. North Carolina summers are particularly hot and humid which means if you participate in any summer activities outside for more than a minute, the salty smell will become you.
It is essential to have a delicious treat to cool you off after a long day of sweaty summer fun. We all remember spitting watermelon seeds off the back porch or inhaling a popsicle before the whole thing has a chance to melt in your hand. Today I’m going to introduce you to another super easy, satisfying, and really healthy summer treat.  Pineapple, Mango and coconut water slushies! The electrolytes in coconut water are great for replenishing your body after a long day of sweating outside, and mixed with frozen pineapple and mango, a new summer favorite is born!

So even when your dripping sweat, where there’s a meal, there’s a way.
