This post is BANANAS, B-A-N-A-N-A-S!

Sometimes it's better to go ahead and buy something than try and make it at home. I learned this the hard way. All the men in my life (dad, husband and son) adore bananas. For Tucker's first birthday we were out of town for a friend's wedding, so I had packed Trader Joe's "Gone Bananas" up for his special treat. From that point on, we've been hooked. Once, I thought to myself, "Gosh, it's just 2 ingredients, I bet I can make these myself and they'll be great!" Ugh. So I melted some dark chocolate with some coconut oil (a great way to get chocolate to harden nicely on fruit, just not in this case) sliced up some bananas and got to work. I started to dip the bananas, but they can be VERY slippery and tend to basically disolve if you handle them to much. The pitiful banana slices I got to last were already turning brown and gooey. Then I had to lay them all out evenly on a cookie sheet (if you don't want them to freeze in a giant bloob) which took up A TON of precious real estate in my freezer. When we ate them, they were too mushy, some had tons of chocolate while others not so much. This is when I realized that I much rather pay the $1.99 that these guys cost at Trader Joe's than go through the hassle of making them again. Trader Joe's "Gone Bananas" are always evenly covered in cold, crispy chocolate and the bananas are perfectly ripe. Even if you have to buy it, where there's a meal, there's a way!
You can find these treats in the frozen dessert section of Trader Joe's for $1.99!
There is an awesome website/app called Fooducate. You can type in any type of food, or scan the products barcode with your phone, and the app will grade your snack and tell you any and all unhealthy ingredients in your food. You can see Trader Joe's "Gone Bananas" rating here.
When you open up the box, you'll find the chocolate covered bananas in a sealed plastic pack. Once you open its hard to securely close the bag and fit them back in the box, I recommed transfering them to a freezer bag (that is, IF you have any leftover).
Tucker and Pop (my dad) enjoying Trader Joe's "Gone Bananas" on a pretty day. Sure beats a sugaPry neon colored popsicle loaded with who knows what!
