Easy as 1..2..3, 3 ingredient Mac and Cheese

Ingredients:
  • 1/2 box whole wheat elbow pasta
  • 4 cups milk
  • 1 bag shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup cheddar cheese
  • salt and pepper
Directions:

Preheat oven to 350.  Rinse pasta before cooking in a colander.  Add milk and pasta to a sauce pot.  Bring to a boil stirring constantly.  Reduce heat, and continue stirring until pasta is cooked, about 10 minutes.  Add salt, pepper and a bag of cheese.  Transfer pasta to a small greased baking dish.  Sprinkle 1/2 cup cheddar cheese on top and bake until cheese is melted.



Rinse pasta in water.  This will remove excess starch, and prevent pasta from sticking together during the cooking process.




Boil pasta in milk instead of water.  Stir continuously.



Pasta and milk will thicken as it cooks.  Cook until pasta is tender, about 8-10 minutes.




When pasta is cooked, remove from heat and mix in a bag of shredded cheese.



Pour pasta into a greased baking dish.  Sprinkle 1/2 cup shredded cheese on top and bake until cheese has melted, about 10-15 minutes.




Serve!

A Mac and Cheese with no butter and cream? Yes, Please!

I do believe this was one of the first recipes I ever pinned on pinterest. It seemed to good to be true. But let me tell you, it tastes exactly like Stoffer's mac and cheese, with no butter or cream (and 1/4 of the cost).WOW! In my adaptation of this simple recipe, I bake the mac and cheese so it has a gooey, cheesy top. Craving some creamy, dreamy mac and cheese, but really want to be able to zip your pants tomorrow, never fear because, where there's a meal, there's a way!
