Meet Jess Kolko, Registered Dietitian and
Culinary Educator at Whole Foods Market’s

What a privilege it was to sit in on Jess Kolko's lecture on Label Reading 101 at the Moms Meet WOW Summit.  The information that she provided was life changing, yet simple to understand.  She took complex scientfic information and related it to everyday applications, like trans fats are manufactured, calories from fat need to be less than 20% total calories and so on.  I left feeling empowered because she had gifted me with the knowledge that I could decipher the food label and make the best choice for feeding my family.  I feel as though her message should be given at every Whole Foods because most people do not know why the food they are eating is bad.  She not only answered the "why" but then gave the "how" to do better.  One thing that left my world rocked, was that lard has less saturated fat then cocunut oil.  WHO KNEW?!? I could not wait to share her presentation with y'all so that you coould learn the easy method to make wise food choices.  I believe it was either Maya Angelou (or Big Bird?) that once said "When you know better, you do better."  Thanks to Jess Kolko, I now know the better way.  Don't know how to determine whether your snacks are healthy or not?  Thanks to Jess Kolko and her helpful tips, where there's a meal, there's a way!
