Dutchess the Queen of the Cats
by Keleigh May on January 2nd, 2015

Dutchess my fat kitty I got shortly after graduating college (who only had one day left at the shelter before…..you know)  My kitty that watched as I got engaged and then married.  The kitty/nanny who groomed and looked after new born Tucker.  My kitty who has never hissed at anyone or anything in her entire life.  My kitty who rolls over when you walk in, purring so loud and looking like a manatee who can melt the heart of the most ardent cat hater.  My kitty who tolerates me putting her in ridiculous costumes at Halloween (the last four of which have been coordinating with Tucker).  We found out earlier this week that my sweet Dutchee girl's kidneys are failing her.  Her time left on this earth may be limited but we are going to spend it doing the things she loves most: sleeping, enjoying other's company, purring, chasing strings, bird watching and most importantly eating. She has been with me through thick and thin (literally we have both been thick and thin) and I determined to do the same for her.  Here’s to Dutchess, who in my opinion is the queen of all cats.
For the next couple of weeks, I will be focusing on how to keep my fur baby happy during this time of transititon. When everything settles down, I am so excited to share with you all how the May's are going clean in 2015! I'm even attempting to make a clean homemade kitty food for kitties in renial failure, so if you are going clean or even if love a kitty queen, where there's a meal, there's a way!
