First Day of School Lunch

Back to School Day for Tucker May!

Today is Tucker's first day of Pre-K, and there is a flood of Biblical proportions outside (thus the reason for the dark first day of school picture). Here's what is in his first (incredibly rainy) day lunch box!
Last week I whipped up some Combine Nuggets, this morning all I had to do was reheat them and put them in Tucker's thermos, easy!
Plantain and Peanut Butter Sandwiches
Spread peanut butter (or almond butter if you prefer) in between 2 plantain chips (banana chips would work here as well).
*My plantain chips and peanut butter both came from Trader Joe's.
Peter Rabbit Organics  Pumpkin, Carrot and Apple Pouch. We always have Peter Rabbit Pouches on hand!
Mixed Dark Chocolate chips with dried cranberries and a Surf Sweet Watermelon Ring.
This year we are using a S'well bottle in Tucker's lunch. This thing is incredible! It will keep his drink cold for 24 hours, or hot for 12! It has a twist off top so if you are using it with little ones be sure to practice before. Fingers crossed S'well will come up with a kid (or clumsy adult) friendly lid soon. The bottles come in a variety of colors and what's really cool is you can use a chalk pen to write messages on your S'well bottles (it wipes off with a damp cloth).
There you have it! Even on the first day of school where it would have been more convenient to ride a boat to school, with a little planning and help from freezer meals,
where there's a a meal, there's a way!
