by Keleigh May on September 1st, 2015

Here we go, day 2! Thank heavens the sun is out! The contents of his lunch are as follows...
Organic Hummus from Trader Joe's

*Want to change up your hummus? Try these varieties Roasted Red Beet Hummus or Sriracha Pumpkin Hummus
Tucker's hand picked Crudites

Yellow and Orange Organic Carrot Sticks
Sliced Organic Cucumber
Trader Joe's Organic Corn Chip Dippers
White Cheddar Cheese Cubes

I buy the block of cheese from Trader Joe's (this was a sharp Wisconsin Cheddar.) Buying blocks of cheese is a great way to try new cheeses!
Organic Green Grapes
Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup

Tucker Pick's His Own Lunch

Once a month I allow Tucker to pick out and make our dinner (Here are some of his past creations, Pea and Bacon Palooza, Island Sweet Potatos, Kids Meal 2.0 ). Last week while grocery shopping, I asked what was something he would like in his lunchbox. He chose hummus, purple, yellow and orange carrots, green bell pepper, and cucumber. This morning he decided he didn't want the bell pepper, just orange and yellow carrots with cucumber. I am totally fine with that decision, I know there are days when I am just not interested in certain foods. I'd rather pack something in his lunch that I know he will eat, than something he won't just leaving a mess that I will have to clean up later. Allow your kids some freedom in picking what is in their lunchbox, they might just surprise you because
where there's a meal, there's a way!
