Natural Sins-The UnPotato Chip
by Keleigh May on November 3rd, 2015

At Expo East in Baltimore, I came across the Natural Sins Company which offers a more healthy chip.  If you have read my blog at all, you know that I am not a fan of most fruits and vegetables, in fact, I am disgusted by most of them.  With only two ingredients in every bag these wonderful chips of delight taste AMAZING!  Natural Sins uses a combination of two fruit dehydration processes that preserves the shape, color and smell of the fruits and vegetables. "Ever eaten a whole pineapple, core, rind and all? No Way, you say.  Yes way, we say."  Natural Sins slices the entire pineapple paper thin and using their dehydration/baking process creates a perfect, crispy chip.  They are so good, that I needed to find a way to incorporate these into my recipes.  Then it hit me.  Why not try it with my No "GILL"t Fish Nuggets.
Fish and "Un"Chips
  • 1 pound white fish, such as flounder or cod
  • ½ cup whole wheat flour
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 2/3 cup crushed Natural Sins Crispy Pineapple Thins
  • ¼ cup flax seed meal
  • ¾ cup coconut oil
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon celery salt
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • salt and pepper
Place several of the Natural Sin Crispy Pineapple Chips in a zip loc bag and break them into tiny pieces.  These will serve as the outside coating of your fish nuggets.
Follow the same steps as my No "Gill"t Fish Nuggets, replacing the bread crumbs with the crushed Pineapple Chips.

A Healthy Snack that is Picky Eater Approved!

I had my sister and a few friends give these chips a try right out of the bag and
the consensus was that they were AWESOME!
